What is a regular slotted carton?

The everyday shipping box, also called an RSC (FEFCO 0201). All four flaps are the same depth and the long outer flaps meet in the middle, so it ships flat, folds up fast and seals with one strip of tape.

What is a dieline?

A dieline is the flat layout of a box: the outline the cutting die follows, plus the fold lines (creases). Printers and box factories use it to place your artwork in the right spot. This generator draws the dieline for a regular slotted carton at your exact size.

Inside or outside dimensions?

Enter the inside size, so your product fits. The dieline adds allowances for the board thickness, and Your design shows an approximate outside size, which is handy for courier quotes.

What artwork can I upload?

PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP files up to 8 MB. SVG logos stay sharp at any size. For photos and PNGs, the designer shows the print resolution: aim for 150 dpi or more.

Can I print inside the box?

Yes. Turn on Print inside the box too, or pick Inside in Artwork. You can then design the inside of each wall and the two long top flaps, which are the first things people see when they open the box.

Why is there a line across the top?

The two long flaps meet along the centre of the top and base. Artwork that crosses that line is split by a small gap or covered by tape, so keep small text away from it.

What's in the print file?

A full-size flat layout with your artwork, 3 mm bleed, cut lines in magenta and crease lines in green dashes. If you print inside, the inside layout is on its own page. The blank template has just the lines, for designing in your own software.

Can I edit the dieline in Illustrator or other software?

Yes. Download the SVG or the blank dieline template and open it in Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Inkscape or CorelDRAW. It is full size in millimetres, with the artwork, crease lines and cut lines in separate groups.

Is it really free?

Yes. Design and download as many boxes as you like. No account, no sign-up.
