How to choose the right satchel size

Fold & measure

Fold the item as it will be packed and measure its width and length.

Add 30–50mm

Choose a satchel at least 30 to 50mm bigger each way, and more for thick items like hoodies.

Peel, seal & label

Remove the strip, press firmly to seal, then add a shipping label.

Looking for Australia Post prepaid satchels? Our satchels are plain courier satchels, so postage is not included and you can use any carrier. If you already use AusPost prepaid satchels, shop boxes that fit inside them: small, medium, large and extra large.

Mailing satchel questions

What is a mailing satchel?

A mailing satchel (also called a poly mailer, courier bag or postage satchel) is a lightweight, self-sealing plastic or paper bag for posting goods. It weighs far less than a box, so it keeps postage costs down, and the tough film resists tears and water in transit.

Are these Australia Post prepaid satchels?

No. Our mailing satchels are plain courier satchels, so postage is not included. You can send them with Australia Post or any courier and pay postage separately, which is often cheaper for regular senders. If you use AusPost prepaid satchels, see our boxes that fit inside AusPost satchels.

What size mailing satchel do I need?

Fold your item flat, measure its width and length, then add 30 to 50mm each way, plus more for thick items. As a guide, #01 (190 x 260mm) fits a t-shirt, #02 (255 x 330mm) a folded tee or A4 documents, #03 (310 x 405mm) jeans or a hoodie, and #04 (350 x 480mm) a jacket.

Are mailing satchels waterproof?

Our poly mailing satchels are made from polyethylene film, which is water-resistant and protects contents from rain in transit. Paper courier bags should be kept dry.

What is the difference between poly and compostable satchels?

Poly satchels are made from polyethylene, the most durable and lowest-cost option. Compostable satchels are made from compostable materials designed to break down after use; follow your local composting guidance. For a plastic-free choice, see our paper courier bags.

Can I buy mailing satchels in bulk?

Yes. Packs range from 50 to 2,000 satchels, and larger packs cost less per satchel. Wholesale cartons of 2,000 to 20,000 are available for popular sizes, and you can apply for a wholesale account.

Can I pick up my order?
