Long boxes, also called long cardboard boxes or long mailing boxes, are a flat-packed alternative to postage tubes and cardboard tubes. They store flat, take far less space than tubes, will not roll off a bench, and are easy to stack and label. Choose from 25 sizes from 200mm to 1200mm long, in square sections from 55mm to 150mm, for posters, prints, plans, rods, wine and other long items. Roll the poster along its short side so the roll length matches the sheet’s short edge, then pick a box at least 10mm longer.

Packing a poster

1Roll it Roll the print image-side in, around a paper core if you have one, and wrap it in packing paper.

2Box it Fold the long box, slide the roll in and fill any end gap with paper.

3Seal & label Tape both ends and add a shipping label.

Is a long box better than a postage tube?

For most posters and prints, yes. Long boxes are supplied flat, so they take much less storage space, they will not roll around, and their flat sides are easier to label. Tubes are round and bulky until used.

What size box do I need for an A1, A2 or A3 poster?

Roll the poster on its short side. A3 fits our 100 x 100 x 400mm (B33), A2 fits 80 x 80 x 430mm (B76) or longer, A1 fits 100 x 100 x 610mm (B34), and A0 fits 100 x 100 x 1000mm (B77) or the 1200mm B101.
